Description
A proto-freelance layout loosely based on the Maybrook, New York area railroads in the transition era. Over 60 heavy industries and interchanges provide lots of switching for all operators.
Mainline is a portion of the fictitious CNY&NE mainline that runs between Paterson NJ and Oneonta NY which is owned and controlled by the NYC, Erie and D&H railroads. Through freights, local freights, and a few passenger trains provide interchange traffic at the yards in Crawford and Northfork. A branch line runs from Jefferson to Millrun with coal operations and lots of local general industries to switch. Port Hendrick Yard is run by the Maywood Terminal Railroad and has a carfloat operation to deliver cars across the Hudson River and on towards New England. A new family room addition is the D&H branch line to Franklin Mills providing lots of switching to 8 heavy industries.
If you like switching, you will love the CNY&NE Railroad!
